Five Minute Friday: Hands

We write for five minutes flat. All on the same prompt that Lisa Jo posts here.
No extreme editing; no worrying about perfect grammar, font, or punctuation.
Unscripted. Unedited. Real.

"Pink ANNNNNDDDDD purple, momma" she says with a big grin as we pick out polish for our nails.  "Those are my favoritest colors".  Her hands wrap around my leg, so excited, you wouldn't know we do this at least two times a month.

We get settled and she holds her hand out to me, "I'm being still momma, see??"
I laugh at how far we've come from the days of holding down tiny toes & fingers to being asked every other day when we can paint our nails.

I remember those tiny fingers, it's not all that hard since I now see her little sister's everyday.

Tiny hands that grasp at my fingers, hair, & necklaces that slowly change to small hands that grasp crayons, sidewalk chalk, stirring spoons, & books.

The excitement that is there for all of the firsts -
the hands that reach out to be picked up
the hand that finds yours so easily
the hand that waves goodbye
the hands that learn how to clap
the hand that figures out how to get food to her mouth
the hand that blows kisses
the hands that wrap around your neck so tightly

Hands do quite a lot - don't they?

Praying today that our hands never stop learning to do new things
that they learn...
how to rest, how to love, how to have fun, how to extend grace

Praying for hands that glorify Him
