Five Minute Friday Post today!! I do look forward to these every week and if you'd like to join in check out the directions at the bottom of my post!
WRITE...
Go...
I love writing. I have for as far back as I can remember. There is something therapeutic for me in turning thoughts into words and words into sentences. Sometimes there are thoughts that can not clearly be processed until they are written out or now a days typed out. Is it odd that I have a "journal" on my computer and a "journal" journal too - that I love to have cute colored pens to write with?
Prayers, memories, questions...they all somehow make more sense when I take the time to write them out. It's like a decompressing method for me. It's been pretty amazing to me how the Lord can use the time I spend journaling to speak so clearly. It's like there are things He's spoken to my heart that have somehow not made it to my head until I see it in writing. I wonder is that a part of having His written word? The secrets of life that He is continually trying to get me to discover? The whispers of wisdom He wants instilled into my life? Either way, for His written word I am thankful and for the gift of being able to write I am also grateful.
That being said, I will continue to write as long as He allows me. I have dreams of future books written for children that speak of His love for them through whimsical drawings (that I will have NO part of) and sentences that are formed from His promises. I'd love to be a part of a book one day that will drive young girls to see that their worth is found in Him alone and not in a number on a scale or in any future plan. Books that ultimately lead them to The Book, the only written Word that truly matters. I believe writing can change people - most of all I know that it changes me.

Want to participate??
No extreme editing; no worrying about perfect grammar, font, or punctuation.
Unscripted. Unedited. Real.
It started because I’d (Lisa Jo Baker) been thinking about writing and how often our perfectionism gets in the way of our words. And I figured, why not take 5 minutes and see what comes out: not a perfect post, not a profound post, just five minutes of focused writing.
So now on Fridays a group of people who love to throw caution to the wind and just write without worrying if it’s just right gather to share what five minutes buys them. Just five minutes.
Your words. This shared feast.
It’s easy to join in, just:
- Check what the prompt is on my blog.
- Write a post in only five minutes on that topic on your blog.

I love your dream of writing to children of God's love! I have a 2 year old granddaughter who needs much more of that in her life. There are not enough books out there of this nature. I pray God blesses you with your dream fulfilled in the near future. Thanks for sharing on 5 Minute Friday this morning!
